All Warm and Peach Fuzzy – How to Choose Lighting to Suit the PANTONE Colour of the Year

Launched in 1999, the PANTONE Colour of the Year is one of the greatest marketing ploys ever, cementing PANTONE as the industry authority on colour matching. But it’s also an event that designers from every sector look forward to. Setting the tone for the next year’s trends, PANTONE are colouration legends. And in December 2023, they named the shade that would dominate 2024: move over Vivid Magenta – everything is looking peachy!

PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is the colour that everyone wants this year. But what does that mean for lighting?

What Lighting Could Work with PANTONE Peach Fuzz?

According to PANTONE, Peach Fuzz needn’t work alone. They’ve created a range of colour harmonies to complement the shade. So, while you could select an array of pastels, you also have the option to embrace the boldest of contrasts.

Peach Plethora

Unless you’re merely looking for a lampshade, the closest shade you’ll find to Peach Fuzz in lighting is copper. And it’s a beautiful thing to integrate into your home. Full of warmth and light, you often don’t even need to switch the power on to enjoy its illumination. And you can use it in multiple ways. If you want to carry the peach effect upwards, Copper Metal easy-fit light shades can either echo your peachy walls or act as an effortless and changeable accent to your existing décor. A grey shade with a copper inner creates a more subtle but similar affect. While copper lamps can spread that pinkish warmth into every room in the house. And you can accent this with a range of pink and peachy tones.

Hybrid Hues

To harmonise with peach, you might choose the ‘Hybrid Hues’ theme of green, blue, purple, yellow, and maroon. In which case, the Arno table lamp, with its elegant gold or silver base and delicate green glass shade, would work wonderfully, bringing a distinctive vintage feel. For yellow, you might choose the busyness of a Tiffany style lamp or the more muted tones of the this table lamp with its yellow shade and glass stand. While Mirage blue and copper ceiling lights unite the colourway in one.

Pairings

If you’re someone who delights in the brighter tones, it’s the Pairings theme that will work best for you. This theme brings together a rainbow of vibrant shades. This includes Pink Yarrow, which you might find in the Cranberry lamp. Blazing Orange, captured beautifully in the Dragonfly floor lamp. Bermuda, a shade similar to the Nordlux Pop. And Nautical Blue, which is brought to life in the Leaf lamp. Along with Baltic green, Aurora pink, and Little Boy blue, the shades will bring a veritable rainbow of colour to your Peach Fuzz interiors.

Announced in December, the PANTONE Colour of the Year is already making its way on to retailer’s shelves. You’ll see it in clothing, cushions, paint, accessories, kitchenware, and almost anything else you can think of. And that makes it easy to incorporate the latest trend into your home. But it’s important to remember that it’s lighting that brings your home and its contents to life. So, think about the bigger picture before you make a purchase.
